Our Chicago crew is the same group of technicians you’ll see from Bucktown to South Shore, from the bungalow belt to the high-rises along the lakefront. We’re not a rotating cast of subcontractors. We show up in the same trucks, wearing the same uniforms, with the same photo documentation rig we’ve been using since 2013. What ties us together isn’t a manual - it’s that none of us can stand the thought of a customer paying for duct cleaning and getting a shop-vac run through a register.

Tomas Reyes, Owner

I started CleanRun in 2013 after ten years working commercial HVAC on mid-rise buildings across the South Side. What I learned was that residential customers never got the same documentation the commercial guys demanded - no photo logs, no written scope, no static pressure readings before and after. So I built the thing I wished existed: a duct cleaning company that treats every job like it’s going to be inspected by a building engineer. I’m still the one who answers when the office line rings after hours, still the one who reviews every photo record before it goes to the customer. I live in Portage Park with my wife and two kids, and I own a forty-year-old bungalow with the original galvanized ductwork - so I know exactly what that stuff looks like when the camera goes in.

Marcus J., Lead Technician

Marcus has been running our negative-pressure extraction rigs since 2017, which in this trade means he’s cleaned ducts in everything from 1890s greystones in Hyde Park to new construction in the West Loop that still had drywall dust in the plenum. He’s NADCA-certified and specializes in older masonry buildings where the duct runs follow chimney chases and structural brickwork that newer techs don’t know how to navigate. Off the clock, Marcus restores vintage motorcycles in a garage in Austin and brings the same patience to a seized carburetor that he brings to a collapsed flex duct behind a plaster wall.

Elena V., Senior Installer

Elena handles our duct repair and sealing work, which means she’s the one crawling through attics in Rogers Park in January when a customer discovers their supply trunk has separated at the seam. She’s certified in Aeroseal application and manual mastic sealing, and she’s particular about measuring air-side static pressure before she calls a job complete - “If I can’t show you the number changed, I haven’t earned the invoice,” she’ll say. Elena grew up in a family of Chicago plumbers, so she learned young that the work you can’t see matters more than the work you can. She lives in Bridgeport and coaches a youth soccer team at McGuane Park.

Darnell K., Service Coordinator

Darnell is the voice on the phone when you call (708) 683-3974, and he’s the one who builds your written scope and price before any technician is dispatched. He’s been with us since 2019 and knows the difference between a standard residential cleaning and a job that needs our Nikro HEPA equipment because of post-renovation silica contamination. Darnell grew up in Chatham, worked dispatch for a commercial HVAC contractor downtown, and came to us specifically because he was tired of hearing customers get surprised by bills. He keeps a whiteboard behind his desk with every active job’s promised price written next to the customer’s name - Haven Standard Clause 1 in physical form.

Sofia R., Apprentice Technician

Sofia joined us in 2024 after completing the HVAC program at Coyne College and spending a year doing residential furnace installs. She’s our first apprentice under the H.A.V.E.N. Standard’s formal training track, which means she’s logged 200 hours of supervised duct cleaning before she’s allowed to run a Rotobrush solo. Right now she’s specializing in dryer vent cleaning - the runs through multi-story brick buildings in Lincoln Park and Lakeview where a straight shot to the roof isn’t guaranteed and a kinked transition hose behind the dryer is more common than you’d think. Sofia lives in Avondale and has already developed opinions about which Chicago building eras have the most accessible cleanouts.
